Reading Premier League 1X2 odds

Football has three outcomes, so each Premier League match on the board shows three prices: 1 (home win), X (draw) and 2 (away win). With decimal odds, R50 on a home win at 2.20 returns R110. When a top side plays away at a smaller club, the away price might be 1.60 and the home price 5.00 or higher. Draws in the Premier League usually price between 3.20 and 4.50.

Why South Africa follows the EPL

The Premier League is the most-watched foreign league in Mzansi, and Saturday afternoon kick-offs at 16:00 SAST fit perfectly into the weekend. Early games start at 13:30 SAST, the late Saturday game at 18:30, and Sunday and midweek fixtures fill the rest of the week. The season runs from August to May, with a busy festive programme over December.

Popular EPL markets

Both teams to score (BTTS): yes or no on whether each team scores. Over/under 2.5 goals: a bet on whether the match has three or more goals. Double chance: covers two of the three results, such as home or draw, at a lower price. Correct score and half-time/full-time pay more because they’re harder to get right. Anytime goalscorer markets are available on selected games.

What moves Premier League odds

Team news has the biggest effect. A missing striker or goalkeeper can shift a price sharply, and line-ups come out about an hour before kick-off. Fixture congestion matters as well: clubs playing European football midweek often rotate at the weekend. Weather, managerial changes and a run of bad form all show up in the prices, so check the latest news before you bet rather than relying on reputation.

Building an EPL accumulator

A Saturday accumulator is a South African favourite. The odds multiply, but every leg has to win, so each extra team makes the bet less likely to land. Keep multiples short and pick games you’ve actually looked at. If you prefer cover, a system bet pays out even if one leg loses. For more on bet types, see the sports betting guide.
