Online Betting in South Africa, Made Simple

Why South African players choose Betshezi

Looking for an online betting site in South Africa you can trust? Here’s how we work. Betshezi is a locally licensed operator. You deposit in ZAR, our odds cover the leagues South Africans follow, and our support team works from inside the country. Betshezi is operated by SMP Gaming (Pty) Ltd (Reg. 2021/964248/07), licensed by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (licence 10191121-005), and SMP Gaming Eastern Cape (Pty) Ltd (Reg. 2025/200388/07), licensed by the Eastern Cape Gambling Board (ECBM 033).

We built Betshezi for punters who want a clean, fast experience. It works on an entry-level Android phone as well as a laptop. Pages are light, the bet slip is clear, and you can see your balance, open bets and history at a glance. No clutter, no confusing menus.

Sports betting SA punters actually care about

Our sportsbook covers the matches you talk about at the braai. That means the South African Premiership, the Carling Knockout, Nedbank Cup, Springbok and URC rugby, Proteas cricket, plus the Premier League, European club competitions, tennis, basketball, MMA and more. You can bet pre-match or live, build multiples, and follow scores in-play. Read our sports betting guide for markets, bet types and tips on reading betting odds.

Online casino South Africa: slots, crash and live dealers

The Betshezi casino lobby brings together hundreds of slots from established studios, quick crash games, and a full live casino with real dealers streaming blackjack, roulette, baccarat and game shows. If you like simple, fast-paced games, try Spina Shezi, our in-house take on the classic South African spin format. Browse the full online casino guide to find your style.

Promotions with clear terms

New players can claim a welcome offer with a minimum qualifying deposit of R100. Existing players can check the daily Shezi AVI deposit offer. Every promotion has its own terms page, and we keep them readable. The current list is on our promotions page, which always points to the live terms on betshezi.com. Offers change, so the terms on the site at the time you opt in are the ones that apply.

Getting started in three steps

1. Register with your South African ID or passport and mobile number. 2. Verify (FICA) by uploading your documents, as required by South African law. Verification protects you and keeps withdrawals moving. 3. Deposit and play using the local payment methods shown in the cashier. Then pick a match, a slot or a live table.

Ready? Register at Betshezi in a few minutes. Once you’re signed in, help with FICA, deposits and withdrawals is available on betshezi.com.

Play responsibly

Betting should be entertainment, not a way to make money. Only bet what you can afford to lose. Take breaks, and never chase losses. Betshezi gives you account tools such as deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion. Our responsible gambling page explains how they work and where to get free, confidential help.

Deposit in ZAR

Deposit in ZAR: Your Betshezi account runs in South African rand. The cashier lists the local deposit methods available to your account, including bank and card options and vouchers, with each method’s minimums and processing times. Withdrawals go back to a verified method in your name once FICA is complete. Payments run through secure, encrypted payment partners. If a deposit doesn’t show, send the time, amount and method to support from your account and the team will trace it.

Mobile-first by design

Most South Africans bet on their phones, so every Betshezi page is built for small screens first. Buttons are big enough to tap, menus are short, and pages load quickly on 4G. You don’t need to install anything. Open betshezi.com in Chrome, Samsung Internet or Safari and add it to your home screen for one-tap access. If your signal drops mid-session, your open bets and balance are stored safely on your account and will be there when you reconnect.
