Carling Knockout results and EPL weekend wrap, 26 Oct 2026

Four teams are already through to the Carling Knockout quarter-finals after a busy weekend, and the big three of South African football all play on Tuesday night. Here is the Monday wrap of the cup and the Premier League, with every time in SAST. Follow the action and markets at Betshezi.

Carling Knockout last 16: weekend results

  • Golden Arrows 4-0 Chippa United
  • Polokwane City 0-0 Siwelele (Siwelele won 4-3 on penalties)
  • Kruger United 0-1 AmaZulu
  • Sekhukhune United 3-1 Richards Bay

On Sunday afternoon in Mbombela, tournament debutants Kruger United kept the ball well but could not find a finish. AmaZulu won it in the 78th minute when Hendrick Ekstein, off the bench, scored from the spot after a handball. In the evening Sekhukhune were far the stronger side in Polokwane. Chibuike Ohizu opened the scoring after the break, Thabang Makubo added a second late on, Nqaba Xulu pulled one back for Richards Bay, and Bethuel Muzeu headed in the third two minutes from time.

Both winners are back in Premiership action on Saturday 31 October, when AmaZulu host Golden Arrows and Sekhukhune travel to Milford.

Tuesday’s big three ties (SAST)

  • 19:00 Orlando Pirates v Milford FC, Orlando Amstel Arena
  • 19:00 Mamelodi Sundowns v Marumo Gallants, Loftus Versfeld
  • 19:00 Kaizer Chiefs v TS Galaxy, FNB Stadium
  • Wed 28 Oct, 19:00 Durban City v Stellenbosch, Chatsworth Stadium

Pirates are the holders after beating Marumo Gallants 1-0 in last season’s final, and they start their defence at home to Milford. Sundowns host Marumo Gallants, last season’s beaten finalists, at Loftus, while Chiefs welcome TS Galaxy to FNB. Every tie is one game: level after 90 minutes means extra time, then penalties, as Siwelele and Polokwane found out on Saturday. Compare prices for all three at Betshezi.

Premier League: Sunday results

  • Liverpool 2-0 Brighton
  • Manchester United 0-3 Bournemouth
  • Crystal Palace 0-2 Newcastle United
  • Hull City 1-1 Brentford
  • Sunderland 0-0 Leeds United

Liverpool scored twice in five first-half minutes at Anfield, a Pascal Gross own goal and an Alexander Isak finish, to beat a Brighton side that had been flying. The win lifts Liverpool to fourth, a point behind Brighton in third. Bournemouth won 3-0 at Old Trafford, extending United’s winless run to eight games in all competitions. William Osula and Barnes scored early in the second half for Newcastle at Selhurst Park, Brentford came from behind to draw at Hull, and Leeds kept another clean sheet in wind and rain at Sunderland.

Manchester City and Arsenal sit level on 21 points at the top after eight games. Next weekend’s standout is Liverpool v Arsenal.
